I received your DIY electric bike kit about three weeks ago. 750W 36V with brushless controller. I have assembled it according to the instructions on your site, but one issue have arisen.Nothing happens as I turn the key and press the throttle. No sound, no movement. Every cable is connected as it should be. I’ve tested the battery with a multimeter,and the output is 36V, so there is nothing wrong there. I also tried connecting just the battery and the controller with no results.
I have tested the connection to the controller from the battery, and the multimeter reads 36V. The cables have been checked for bad connections,so I would think that the controller is faulty.
Answer 1:
The same problem to mine.At last I solve it.The problem comes from the wrong connecting.
Answer 2:
Remove all wires,except throttle and power wires.Twist your throttle,if still not run,please check the voltage from throttle.
The voltage of green and black wires is about 2.3V;
The voltage of red and black wires is about 4.5V.
If no any voltage from this throttle,check battery.If do have voltage input the controller,but no output from throttle.This controller may broken.Re-check wire connecting whether handle brake is hold off.
Answer 3:
Yeah,do it as Joe Horn said.
BTW,if your e bike kit is brushed,not brushless.
It’s easy.Connect two wires from your motor to the battery directly,the motor will run as the fastest speed at once.
Answer 4:
If the battery is no problem.Please test it as below:
1.Disconnect all external wires from brushless controller,except battery power wires and motor wires(blue,yellow and green three thick wires) and hall sensor wires(red,black,blue,yellow and green five thin wires);
2.Make your hub motor wheel in the air;
3.Find a three-pin throttle connector from motor controller,there are red,black and green three wires.Use a wire to jump red and green wires.
If your electric motor and controller are okay,it can run as the fastest speed suddenly.
If not,use your hand to turn your motor,be careful.Motor may run.
If work,problem may come from throttle wire connecting.
If still can’t work.Should use voltmeter to test motor hall sensor(five wires):
1.The voltage of red and black wires is approximate 4.5V
2.The voltage of blue and black wires is approximate 4.5V or 0V(use hand to turn motor,it will change from 4.5V-0V)
3.The voltage of yellow and black wires is approximate 0V or 4.5V(use hand to turn motor,it will change from 0V-4.5V)
4.The voltage of green and black wires is approximate 4.5V or 0V(use hand to turn motor,it will change from 4.5V-0V)
If can’t get voltage from these wires,controller may broken or motor hall sensor is broken.
Answer 5:
Re-check wire connecting and connectors,most of problems come from wrong wire connecting and loose connectors.
One in a thousand products’ fault.Any goods should test more than 2 times before we received.
Answer 6:
Thanks,all.I found the problem.The three pin male and female connectors can’t connect well.Re-made these two connectors,motor worked well without any noise.Perfect.
Answer 7:
Before ride your bike on road,had better to fix these connectors firm,if not,sometimes your e-bike will stop sudden when everything works well.
Answer 8:
I met this problem before,bike conversion kit can’t work,but shook cable,the system run as the fast speed.
Answer 9:
I re-made all connectors since received my first e bike kit.And connected all wires as leafmotor instruction,no any installation trouble.
