going to order leaf bike conversion kit with lithium battery

Q:Going to order your 20 inch 72v 2500w bike conversion kit and will need a 72v lithium battery. Any recommendations? Like to have one built to these specs: 72v 40a BMS 1000AH

Here’s my Cargo Ebike: Eunorau G30 Orange Cargo Bike to check out the shape of the battery casing.

A: Yes,we can make 72V 18ah lithium battery.
Would you need 1000Ah?

Q: Also, on the 20″ 72v 2500w bike conversion kit, does it have Juliet connectors on all major components? Yes. I want a 1000ah pack.

A: 1000ah? It’s equal to 50 sets of 72v 20ah lithium battery. Your bike can’t carry these lithium batteries.
Your bike max use 72v 50ah.

Q: Ok. I’ll take the 72v 50ah lithium battery and it will lock in same position on the bike correct?
And have a 40A BMS correct?(the controller in that kit is 40A max)
50ah I can ride for awhile between charges.
How many N.M. of torque does that motor produce?
On the 72v 2500w 20 inch bike conversion kit I also need a 7-speed freewheel. Will you install that as well? Eunorau G30 Orange Cargo Ebike

A: Yes.Can make 72v 50ah.But 3A charger charge battery is too slow.Also,too many cells.
We recommended 2 or 3 sets of 72v 18ah 40A lithium battery.That’s better than 1 set of 72v 50ah 40A

Q: What about 2 sets of 72v 30ah lithium battery?
I know even better 1) 72v 40ah 40a less cells and you can make it to fit in the housing of the frame .

A: Supply you frame size, let me check max can how ah.
We can customize lithium battery size as your frame.

60V 30AH electric bike triangle battery Custom

Q: I’m interested in this 60v 30ah lithium battery but I have 2 questions. My controller has a max BMS of 45 and I see that this battery is rated for 30. Would that be an issue? If yes, can you guys increase it? The second question is that I like the size of this electric bike battery because it fits my frame. I was wondering if you can increased to amp hours from 30 to 35-40, without changing the battery size? I’d like to increase my range as much as possible. I don’t know if this is possible but I thought I’d ask.

A: 1. Your controller Max 45. — It’s fit for.  We can make battery’s BMS to max 40A or 50A
2. Yes, we can increased the Amp hours from 30ah to 35-40. If without changing the battery size. (Also, can supply your frame size to us. We can customize as battery as your frame.)

Q: I’m not quite sure which measurement is for the frame size, so I’ll just send 2 different ones, followed by a picture so you can see where I got them from. From the middle of the crank to the top of the seat it’s 17 inches, and from the middle of the crank to the horizontal top bar, it is 14.25 inches. However, I made a cardboard cut-out based on the dimensions provided on your website found out it’ll fit well. What’s the maximum amp hours that you can fit in a battery that size?

A: We can make 60v 30ah fit for this frame.  (maybe 60v 35ah, 40ah)
If we can get actual size of this frame, then we can ask our factory to estimate max amp fit for this.

Q: Going in a clockwise direction, the measurements are listed below:
444.5mm (across the top) X 571.5mm (bottom bar) X 279.4mm (vertical seat tube).

How to replace li battery cells?

Lead acid,LiFePo4,LiMn2O4,any kind of battery has use life.Generally 1 year warranty for battery.

Battery is a special good that is different from brushless controller, hub motor. Why?Controller and motor,if you don’t use for 1 year.Still no problem. But battery, you should charge it each two weeks, even if you don’t use.

For lithium battery, there are many cells make up of one battery.
Below we talk about LiMn2O4 battery first.
Now 4.2V 4Ah LiMn2O4 cell is familiar with us.
7 series for 24V,10 series for 36V,13 series for 48V
1.1 set of 24V 16Ah LiMn2O4 needs 28 pcs cells;
2.1 set of 36V 12Ah LiMn2O4 needs 30 pcs cells;
3.1 set of 36V 16Ah LiMn2O4 needs 40 pcs cells;
4.1 set of 48V 12Ah LiMn2O4 needs 39 pcs cells.

Too many cells for one battery, only one cell is sick. The whole of battery will be broken.
You will find that, full chargerd your battery, but it only drive your bicycle several meters, the motor will stop.
Because BMS found one sick cell,in order to protect other cells.BMS turns off power.

Now you need to replace sick cell, pls test as below, you will find it.
It’s a 36V li-ion battery.
Remove the battery end cover containing the charger socket. You will find a printed circuit board (PCB).
It is a battery management system (BMS) which equalizes the charge in each of the cells.
The wire B1 is the one attached to the battery anode. Connecting his professional quality voltmeter to the battery anode and to the other nine wires in succession.

There is one 10-Pin connector on this PCB. (B10 B9 B8 B7 B6 B5 B4 B3 B2 B1)

Measure the voltage between
the green wire and other nine wires as below:

B1 green wire to: Specification
B2 yellow wire(the second wire) 3.6V ~ 4.15V
B3 yellow wire(the third wire) 7.2V ~ 8.30V
B4 yellow wire(the fourth wire) 10.8V ~ 12.45V
B5 yellow wire(the fifth wire) 14.4V ~ 16.60V
B6 yellow wire(the sixth wire) 18.0V ~ 20.75V
B7 yellow wire(the seventh wire) 21.6V ~ 24.90V
B8 yellow wire(the eighth wire) 25.2V ~ 29.05V
B9 yellow wire(the ninth wire) 28.8V ~ 33.20V
B10 black wire (the tenth wire) 32.4V ~ 37.35V
If the voltages are normal, all cells are okay.

Incidentally, 32.4V~37.35V + 3.6V~4.15V = 36V~41.5V

Then, measure voltage of the battery
without BMS (B- and battery anode) 36V~41.5V
with BMS (D- and battery anode) 36V~41.5V
If these two voltages are the same, then the battery pack is okay.

Note:If the voltage of any cell is more than 4.2V.I think the cell is overcharge. It can stop BMS and battery work.So you should find out which cell is over charged.

a little problem with hub motor kit rim

I received bike conversion kit with new version LCD motor controller, hub motor wheel and bike parts ..everything but the lithium battery , started to mount a tire on the hub motor wheel rim and I think there might be a little problem with it the hole for the tube is in between where the spokes cross, making it almost impossible to get the inflation valve on the stem. I might be able to drill another hole on the other side between where the spokes go apart so it will work, haven’t looked into that yet the hole for the valve stem should be where the spokes are going away from it, so the valve can be fitted on easily. I have a few tools and a reamer so I probably can make it work. I was going to put one of these airless no-flat tubes in, its solid foam, but I think nice you get it on that’s it, you have to cut the tire to remove it after the tire wears out
I got a regular tube on and inflated it, but once it inflated the stem pulled so far down into the rim I get the valve back on it now.
I can’t get the valve back on, but it looks like it has enough air, hopefully it will hold it
anxious for the lithium battery to com now so I can try the motor out
I was looking at your metal case that the lithium battery goes in. on some other site it looked like the same case, but it had a theft vibration alarm when you turned the key and pulled it out, to keep it from being stolen. that looked like a good idea. I thought the theft alarm would be a good idea . The battery is so valuable. It might be a good idea for you to put one in the lithium battery case with a vibration sensor and maybe a 120db buzzer or something. the batteries are so expensive
I can see it being a good feature to add to all of the hub motor controller.

I think some sort of vibration alarm on the bike to detect tampering with such an expensive lithium battery would be a good product service for your customers.

Be hard for them to run with the lithium battery when it is screaming at 120db they would be noticed kind of like a bump alarm on a car, when someone tries to break into it
I think going to find one for my recumbent bike conversion kit trick, the hub motor trick is worth over $2000 and now with the motor and battery another $1000
I am cautious about parking it even though its locked and chained down, someone might try and take the battery or hub motor controller off.

After all this hard work I’ve done with the bikes I think I need to celebrate this.

I have a bracket under the seat with enough space to mount the plate and battery I think
that’s where they had one on another hub motor bike conversion kit at the where I bought the bike conversion kit from it was a low power motor and only 10ah lithium battery.
It would not pull the bike until you got moving about 5mph.Does the slipping plate come with the lithium battery case?

The hub motor they had on the electric bike at the shop was only 250w, 36v, it didn’t have enough torque to push the e-bike till you got it moving along with the pedals.

E-bike Not work – electric controller issue or hub motor?

Riding an electric bike is a funny thing.Sometimes, while riding happily,it stop working and can’t re-start.
If you think your lithium battery is new, can’t cause this issue. Now you should check controller or bike motor, how to check?

If you have volt meter, you could measure as below? So that you can make sure the problem comes from controller or motor
If you can get the same data as below 1, that means controller’s everything is good
If you can’t get the same data as below 2,some hall senor has problem.

1. Connect all wires, power on.Just disconnect that white big plug with five wires( yellow, blue, green, red, black)
Then measure controller’s hall sensor:
* The voltage of red and black is about 5.0V
* The voltage of yellow and black is about 5.0V
* The voltage of blue and black is about 5.0V
* The voltage of green and black is about 5.0V

—————————————————————————–
2 Connect all wires, power on.Also, connect that white big plug with five wires( yellow, blue, green, red, black)
Then measure motor’s hall sensor:
* The voltage of red and black is about 4.5V
* The voltage of yellow and black is about 4.5V or 0V (when use hand to turn motor, the voltage will change from 4.5V-0V-4.5V-0V)
* The voltage of blue and black is about 4.5V or 0v (when use hand to turn motor, the voltage will change from 4.5V-0V-4.5V-0V)
* The voltage of green and black is about 0V or 4.5V (when use hand to turn motor, the voltage will change from 4.5V-0V-4.5V-0V)

if your lithium battery with BMS or not

Does your electric bike battery has BMS function, if with BMS function, had better to always make this red button to be “down”(Don’t be up)… (After testing, LCD-008HU is no problem for working with the battery without BMS function.)

This red button be “up”, when ride, press brake lever,it will reverse charging battery.

It is necessary to confirm whether the lithium battery has BMS function. If the electric bike battery has BMS function, if the battery is full, use the reverse charging function of the controller, and the battery protection will not absorb. Then the reverse current of 70V, 80V and 110V will be reverse charged to LCD and controller.

The controller has a large capacitance, which can absorb the counter current. But LCD does not have a large capacitance, it will act on the LCD switching power supply and burn the switching power supply.

Other LCD-003 use resistance step-down power supply, reverse charging, resistance can step-down, will not damage the switch.
But for the LCD with USB port, the USB module will be burnt if the counter charging exceeds 70V
Because there are a lot of things that need to be lit for this color screen instrument. It uses the switching power supply. If the reverse charging exceeds 70V, the switching power supply will be burnt out

If your lithium battery has BMS, can’t make that red button to be “up”(three button switch). (red button should as “down” as below picture)
Had better Not use this red button. Thanks.
